My mother’s passing was one of the most peaceful events of that nature that I have ever witnessed.
She had been declining for about a month and was starting to complain about pains in various places.
About three weeks ago I decided to get some assistance from Atlas Home Care, and they joined in with the rest of us helping with mom’s daily needs.
I believe that my mother chose the day and time she would leave, and I feel a little bit like a part in a play that was written, directed and produced by Elizabeth Sweeten.
I was afraid for her, myself, and everyone else there as I have been bedside twice previously when someone passed. Those events were difficult for the person and for the people surrounding them. Mom’s passing was the opposite of those events.
She spent the day surrounded by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was happy and spoke with everyone until she left. I’ve never seen anything like that.
Nice job Mom!
